I'm having a bad day.  First Blogger refused to upload photos.  I figured my photo archive was full, so I deleted an old folder that looked like it contained only photos from deleted posts.  It happened to contain the illustrations to a lot of posts on artists and writers, plus The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Trailer Park Boys, Love Boat, and Married..with Children. Bud Bundy's pecs and bulge, vanished.

Then I watched It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Episode 18.5, where the gang goes to a Renaissance Faire.  Mac (Rob McElhenney) gets into an angry flirtation with a cute short guy; I figured that they would end up screwing.  But it was impossible to find out who played the short guy to see if he is gay in real life.  He's not on the IMDB. Google AI doesn't know. The closing credits cut to the next show just as we get to his name (I tried three times).  So for a consolation prize, I'm profiling trumpet player Jai Day.  Maybe he's the son of Charlie Day, who plays dimwitted janitor Charlie.  

No such luck. Charlie Day was born in New York City in 1976, and Jai Day in in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, in 1986, so there's no apparent connection. 

But at least Jai is a muscleman.  He founded the Actors' Gym in Hong Kong, which...wait, it's not an actual gym, it's a actors' studio, offering scene training, voice study, and audition reviews. 

How did he get from Staffordshire to London?  

His biography doesn't say.  He received  a B.Sc. in Psychology and Sociology from Keele University, did some shorts and a horror movie, performed in Nickelodeon at Sea and Offshore LA, and suddenly in 2010 he is hosting Improv Asia. 

Some theatrical performances in Hong Kong follow: Macbeth, Four Assassins, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Cockroach Flying Like a Helicopter, and The Dark Side of the Moon.

Diego Pooth. The name alone was worth the trip. With a Plattdeutsch dick, a Big Brother Butt, and two Diego dongs

 

Someone named "San Diego Pooth" showed up in my recommedations.  I thought "That can't be his real name."  Poof is an old homophobic slur.  With a lisp, it's Pooth, so a double slur.  And San Diego -- Nobody is named after the town they are born in.  Must be a San Diego-area drag queen resurrecting the old slurs for their camp value.

But San Diego Pooth doesn't have any drag photos on his Instagram.  He's flexing, modeling, golfing, or dancing with a lady named Ekaterina.

Holy Cow, he's a "public figure," with 129,000 followers, and he appears in a documentary called "Born Famous."

He posts in German, which may explain the Pooth.  It may not be a slur in Germany.

Google AI says that it's a Dutch and German name, from either the Middle Low German pot (pool) or pote (young scion). 

Low German or Plattdeutsch, spoken by 3-5 million people northern Germany and the Netherlands, is closer to Frisian and English than the Hochdeutsch (Standard German) that most American kids learned in school.  I actually learned  Plattdeutsch, so to this day I want to pronounce "Ich" with a hard K, Eek, instead of Eesch.

Google knows all about San Diego Pooth.  He's 23 years old as of this writing, 6'2" or 6'6", son of the ultra famous Veronica Pooth and her husband Franjo.  I never heard of them, either.

Veronica is from La Paz, Bolivia, which explains the "San Diego":  Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin (1474-1548), a Nahua peasant who had visions of the Virgin Mary, became the first indigenous person to be canonized as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church -- in 2002.  Our San Diego was born in 2003.

Mom Veronica grew up in Hamburg, and won several beauty contests, including Miss Germany. Her IMDB profile shows her bare breasts.  I didn't think nudity was allowed. 

She appears as "herself" in 121 tv shows,  beginning with The Disney Club and 12 Stunden über den Dächern von Köln (Twelve Hours Above the Rooftops of Cologne).  The most popular seem to be Peep (an erotic show), Big Brother...

Franjo is the son of famous architect Franz-Josef Pooth (the shortened form, get it?).  He studied architecture in London, then founded several companies, notably Maxfield, which Wikipedia says designs MP3 players and "trend-oriented electronic devices."  

He was Maxfield's CEO from 2003 until 2008, when he was convicted of corruption and bribery and forced to step down.  Later Franjo and Veronica founded Pacific Healthcare, which sells CBD-infused cosmetics and dietary supplements.

River Mardesic: "Loser Day" jock tears up the Melbourne stage, stars in artsy shorts, buddies up to Knox GIbson. Just don't ask if he's gay.

The upcoming A Day for Losers stars Dakota Lotus as a military school cadet who can only win the Girl of His Dreams by throwing an epic party.  To do this, he must avoid the bullyin jocks and befriend all of the outcasts and losers. Wait -- the outcasts and losers are invited to the epic party? 

It sounds super retro, with all of that stupid Girl of His Dreams rhetoric, but it also stars Jacob Sartorius and Benji Kroll, who is gay in real life, so there might be some LGBT representation.  

Checking through the male cast members for beefcake or gay content, I came across River Mardesic, who plays a "High School Jock."  

Unusual name (it's Croatian), no photo, only a few acting credits, but a full Instagram, with some beefcake and even a few bulges.  I'm going in for a closer look.  The IMDB is incomplete, so I'll check his Instagram in backwards chronological order.

In 2025, he flies from Australia to the U.S. to appear in A Day for Losers.

 

And he starred in Home Alone: The Australian Musical, "an immersive parody of the classic film with an Australian twist." Jasper McDonald Parsons (center) plays a teenage Kevin, accidentally left home alone when his family flies off to Port Arthur for a Christmas holiday.  

Older brother Buzz (River, next to him) is "an eshay looking for love.  It's a youth subculture given to toxic masculinity and pig Latin, but apparently he gets into a relationship with Gus (John Rochford), an adaption of the Polka king who gave Kevin's mom a ride back to Chicago in the original.

In 2024, River appeared in A Weekend at Nan's, a short film by Matt Harris, which had several local showings before going off to the festivals. The ad says "bring your family and friends."

In 2023, he starred in the short film Speech, directed by Charles Laversha, which won awards at four film festivals. Lloyd (River) has to read a speech by a historic figure to his class.  Then he finds out that the speech was given by a dictator.

In 2022, he was cast in the Wonder Years remake, with the grown-up Dean Williams (Don Cheadle, left), narrating the story of his childhood in Montgomery, Alabama, in the 1960s.  River was going to play the buddy of the teenage Dean, but  due to the COVID lockdown, he couldn't leave Australia. Julian Lerner got the role.

Travis Turner: Short Guy Brigade, gay subtexts, cutesy cartoons, Christmas romcoms, and hip-hop. With n*de photos and Drake Bell

In Final Destination: Blood Legacy (2025), a 1960s Elevator Operator encourages the soon-to-be-skewered couple to squeeze into his already overcrowded elevator, in a scene reminiscent of the "Room for one more, honey" episode of The Twilight Zone.  Then, when things start crashing, he tries to take everyone down the elevator again -- and ends up splattered. 

Look at this guy! He's shorter than Noah Bromley, who plays the evil Penny-Throwing Kid.  Of course I've got to research him.

He's Travis Turner, born in Oliver, British Columbia, in 1987,  raised in nearby Penticton in the Sylix Okangan Nation, although he doesn't mention being First Nation.  Cody Kearsley, Moose in the Riverdale series, is from Oliver also.  Maybe they knew each other.

After high school Travis painted oil rigs and sold vacuum cleaners, then moved to Vancouver to study film at Langara College.  He received his diploma in 2009.  .

He appeared in a lot of shorts in 2009-2010, such as "Henchin'," "Scars," "Snow Tramp," and "Dream a Little Dream," plus the Vancouver-based  Easter Bunny Bloodbath (2010), as one of the victims of a psycho-killer dressed as the Easter Bunny.  Here he appears in an illustration in the novelization.  There was a novelization?

Travis' first high-profile role was in a 2010 episode of Caprica, the Battlestar Galactica spin-off.  He played Ashok, a resident of a virtual world who briefly interacts with Tamara and Heracles ( Richard Harmon).

According to the IMDB, Travis is best known for Final Destination: Blood Lines (2025).

A 2024 episode of Wild Cards, a Canadian police procedural featuring a "will they or won't they" couple, Max (a lady) and Cole (Giacomo Gianniotti, left).  They investigate a missing butcher in a small town, and find a murderous cult.  Travis plays Daryl, who doesn't appear in the plot synopsis.

A 2023 episode of Upload, where you can be uploaded to a virtual afterlife when you die (if they get to your body right away).  Focus couple Nora and Nathan (Robbie Ammel) have returned to the real world, look for jobs, and discover that Nathan has a duplicate (apparently you can return to the real world multiple times).  Travis plays Tom, who does not appear in the episode synopsis.

The anime Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction (2024): Two high schoolers (a boy and a girl, of course) face an alien invasion.  He voices the English dub of Makato Tainuma, a boy who dresses in girls' clothes.  According to TV Tropes, he denies being gay or trans; he just wants to look cute. 

Some Assembly Required (2014-16), a Nickelodeon teencom starring Kolton Stewart as a teenager who becomes CEO of a toy company, and hires all of his friends. Travis played Aster Vanderburg, the snobbish, snarky, fashion-obsessed head of the Design Department (named after the Gilded Age Mrs. Aster).  He's gay-coded for 45 episodes before queerbaiting viewers with The Girl of His Dreams.

Most of his work has been in animation: Nils Holgerson (an adaption of the Swedish children's classic), Tobot Galaxy Detectives,  Marley & Me, Lady Jewelpet, Whisker Haven Tales with the Palace Pets....um....Littlest Pet Shop: A Smashing Birthday Party....

The others have even more embarrassing titles.

Travis has also appeared in some Christmas romcoms, like A Princess for Christmas (2011): he plays Milo, the troublemaking, holiday-hating teenage nephew that focus character Jules is saddled with as she visits the family's palace and falls in love with Sam Heighan.

A Fairly Odd Christmas (2012) is a live-action installment in the Fairly Oddparents franchise: the adult Timmy Turner (Drake Bell, right) screws up Santa Claus's Naughty/Nice list, so he has to go on a perilous journey with his friends and two elves (Travis Turner and a girl).  There's a fade-out boy-girl kiss, but not between the elves.
